The adoption of effective information governance (IG) has become
critically important to law firms from a compliance, risk management and
efficiency perspective. The Law Firm Information Governance Symposium
was established in 2012 by Iron Mountain and information management
leaders from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Reed Smith, Greenberg
Traurig, Morrison & Foerster and White & Case to serve as a
think tank for thought leadership on how to build information governance
in the unique setting of a law practice.
The Symposium’s first publication – A Proposed Law Firm Information Governance Framework
– appeared in 2012 to wide acclaim. The March 2013 Symposium has
